Terms of service

The rules for listing a business, writing on the platform, and using the directory.

Using the platform

By creating an account or listing a business on muslimentrepreneurs.space you agree to these terms, our listing and community guidelines and our privacy policy. Browsing the directory and reading stories doesn’t need an account.

You must be at least 16 to have an account, and at least 18 to list a business.

Your account

  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One person, one account. Don’t create accounts for other people or pretend to be someone else.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy.

Business listings

  • You may list a business only if you own it or are authorised to manage it.
  • When you confirm that a business is Muslim-owned, you are telling us that it is. We rely on that statement and show it as the owner’s attestation. Making it falsely breaks these terms.
  • Keep the details accurate: opening hours, location, contact details, what you offer.
  • One listing per business. Branches belong on the same listing as extra locations.
  • If you say a business is halal certified, name the certifying body truthfully. We don’t certify anything and we don’t check certificates unless we say so.

New listings and some edits (a new name, website or main category) are reviewed before they appear. We may decline a listing, ask for changes, merge duplicates or take a listing down if it breaks these terms or the guidelines.

Claiming a listing

Some listings are added by our team. If one of them is your business, you can claim it. Only claim a business you run. We may ask for evidence, contact the business directly, and refuse or reverse a claim if we aren’t satisfied it’s genuine.

What you post

You keep ownership of the text, photos and logos you upload. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, resize and share them on the platform and in links to it (for example the preview image when someone shares your page), for as long as they are on the platform.

Only upload what you have the right to use. Don’t post photos of people who haven’t agreed to it, and never post someone else’s personal information.

Custom page code

Business pages can include a custom section written in HTML and CSS. It runs in a sandbox on a separate domain, but you are responsible for it. You must not use a custom section to:

  • collect passwords, payment details or other personal data from visitors;
  • track visitors, fingerprint their devices or load third-party trackers or ads;
  • mine cryptocurrency, run malware, or try to break out of the sandbox;
  • redirect visitors elsewhere, or imitate our interface, another business or a public body;
  • show anything the guidelines don’t allow elsewhere on your page.

Custom sections are reviewed when first added or changed, and we may switch one off at any time if we believe it breaks these rules.

Badges

A Verified badge means our team confirmed, at the time, that the business exists and that the person managing the listing runs it. It is not an endorsement, a guarantee of quality, or a statement about anyone’s faith. Badges expire after 24 months and can be removed if circumstances change.

Behaving well

Don’t use the platform to harass anyone, post hateful content, spam, scrape the directory in bulk, or try to get around our security or rate limits. Don’t use the reporting tools to target a competitor.

When something goes wrong

If a listing, profile, story or account breaks these terms, we may hide it, ask for changes, remove it, or close the account. Where we can, we tell you what happened and why, and you can reply to that email to ask us to look again.

Pages that several people report as spam may be hidden automatically until a moderator has looked at them. If the reports turn out to be wrong, the page comes back as it was.

Our responsibility

The directory helps you find businesses; any deal you make with a business is between you and them. We work to keep listings accurate but we can’t guarantee that every detail is correct or up to date.

We provide the platform “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by businesses listed here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the platform grows. If a change matters, we’ll tell account holders by email before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
